We have a commitment to maintaining a high quality of Ayurvedic services, materials and staff. The Ayurvedic services are offered at these introductory prices for 2007 only. Prices have been discounted anywhere from 10% (e.g., abhyanga) to 20% (e.g., Triple Bliss) in order to encourage people to try them. These labor-intensive treatments involve increased time, equipment and medicinal oil costs, etc. Similar treatments at the large Ayurveda clinics (e.g., Raj in Iowa and Chopra Center in California) are more costly. We are very proud of the quality and convenience of the services we offer at our Center.
Consultation
The Ayurvedic consultation involves an hour-long visit. Dr. Roberson reviews
completed forms as well as reading the Ayurvedic pulse, the face, the tongue,
and the hands. She will then give her recommendations which include diet,
lifestyle, herbs, and potentially treatments. Many people make a commitment
to have consultations at the change of seasons to keep an ongoing eye on their
progress. The price is $108.
Abhyanga
Warm sesame oil is massaged into the skin
to loosen and dislodge toxins in the tissues.
The massage facilitates the flow of lymph
and promotes absorption of the healing qualities
of the oil. The toxins are mobilized through
the bloodstream and into the gastrointestinal
tract where elimination will occur. The massage
is followed by a hot towel treatment to further
open the pores of the skin and drive the
oil more deeply into the tissues. Traditionally,
abhyanga is done by two therapists working
in synchrony on both sides of the body. Introductory
price for 2007 is $135 for the synchronized
two-person one-hour treatment. We are offering an abbreviated form of this classical massage: one therapist for one hour for $90.
Swedana
Herbalized steam relaxes the body, reduces tension, and opens the pores and
channels of circulation. Performed following abhyanga, swedana promotes penetration
of the sesame oil deep into the bodily tissues. Loosened impurities are eliminated
through the sweat glands and gastrointestinal tract, thus purifying tissues
and eliminating accumulated toxins from the body. Price is $50 ($180 with abhyanga).
Shirodhara
A gentle stream of warm herbalized sesame
oil is continuously poured over the third
eye and forehead for 30 to 50 minutes, depending
on your imbalances. The treatment is profoundly
relaxing and balancing to the entire nervous
system, taking you into a deeply relaxed
state. The result is greater mental clarity
and rejuvenation of sensory awareness. This
treatment is especially vata balancing. Introductory
2007 price is $125.

Triple Bliss
Treat yourself to a half-day of treatment: First receive a two person Abhyanga
($135), Swedana ($50), and Shirodhara ($125). It is very detoxifying and healing.
This treatment is best done when you can take the rest of the day off. The
total price is $300, $10 off our already discounted prices.
Ayurvedic Facial Massage
Using wholesome products, essential oils,
and massage oils, the massage begins with
cleansing of the face, followed by an exfoliating
massage. Then a detoxifying clay mask is applied.
Next comes a thorough neck, shoulder and face
massage accompanied by Ayurvedic treatments
for the senses. A final nutritional mask is
applied to nourish and regenerate the skin.
Hot towels are applied between each phase
of the treatment. While the masks are drying,
one receives hand and foot massages. Since
the hands, feet, and head reflect to the entire
body, the treatment has benefits that go beyond
the facial to relax and renew the body and
mind. Last, toner and moisturizer are applied.
The price for the facial is $80 for 75 minutes.
