Synopsis
Fight or freeze!
Global temperatures plunge after an earthquake hits in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. As the world starts to freeze over, and cities fall into ruin, scientists must figure out a way to raise the temperature before the next Ice Age.

'THE ASYLUM WATCH #14'
"Don't Believe the Poster"Another day another film from The Asylum, its another global disaster film with 'The Day After Tomorrow' plot but on a tiny budget, poor CGI again and a small cast, a state of the art submarine only has 3 people at the controls? With 2 tiny monitors for 2 of them and flick switches for the woman controlling the missiles? Yes just flick switches on a wall! Starts of well but then the films contained in the sub and a bunker beneath the pentagon with 4 people in it, no scenes of Washington DC, London, Oslo or Reykjavik except for the same aerial shot a bit more snow covered, loads of tech talk and stupid ways of getting the job done, some good acting and silent charecters but it was pretty boring at times and the poster shot with the helicopter isn't in the film.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
The natural disaster film genre is one of the staples of The Asylum. They generally fall into two categories, either it's about trying to stop some horrible (and sometimes life on Earth-threatening) disaster, or it's about people just trying to survive that disaster. In this case, we've got a bit of both.
The Asylum's films are made on modest budgets, but for whatever reason, it feels like the budget was smaller than normal for this movie. The submarine sets are pretty rudimentary, there's no moderately big name that is in a small role (like an Eric Roberts or a Tom Arnold) that they can name drop on the cover art and there is a relatively small cast for a disaster…

I love when the fate of the world comes down to 5 or 6 people all of who are spread across 2 different locations. Add to that some random sciency sounding words thrown in and we have ourselves a winner! Honestly, decent enough film if you're into these sort of low budget disaster movies.

Bad storyline, bad acting, bad special effects. Bloody loved it.

If you ever want to see an end of the world movie where the most devastating storm shown is not stronger than a regular winter day in Northern countries this is it.
90% of the movie takes place on 2 sets and there are almost no scenes of Armageddon. Low budget end of the world movies really miss the point

My punishment for selecting this movie was that Pedro forced me to sit through the whole thing

It's somehow so reassuring that, after 25 years, The Asylum hasn't loosened its exacting standards on making the best bad disaster movies under the (always about to be apocalyptically destroyed) Sun. They have consistently employed the cheesiest people to poorly & cheaply execute the sketchiest plots, the worst scripts, the crappiest FX and the most implausible science ever imagined.
Thank you, Asylum, for staying so vigilant and dependably kooky in these far too uncertain times. Huzzah! And for the love of Mother Nature run amok, don't ever change.

Boring! I hate disaster movies like this where 90% of it is scientists chatting about what they want to do. Show us more people and things freezing!
And wow - Andrew Garvey from Little House on the Prairie got CHONKY!
